Another way you can help us is to donate books.
Up to two bags or small boxes of books can be donated a the front desk of the Library. For larger donations or other questions, please call 503 530-9353 or email us at fgcl.friends@gmail.com
The books you donate to the Library will be:
1. Checked by the library’s professional selectors to see if they want to add them to the library’s collection and if not,
2. they will be checked by Friends volunteers to see if they are worth listing for sale at our online store (part of Amazon.com) and if not,
3. they will be added to the mass of books we sell at our twice yearly Friends used book sales or
4. they will be used to maintain the mini-library-in-a-treestump at Anna and Abbey’s Yard in Rogers Park or
5. they will be sold in the ongoing sale of used books near the Library entrance.
Of course, we prefer books in good condition. What is good condition? If you would be embarrassed giving your friend a torn, moldy, stinky, water damaged, or falling-apart book, then please do not give it to Friends of the Forest Grove Library. Vinyl records, CDs and DVDs all in good condition are welcome, too. Please do not donate magazines, VHS tapes, pamphlets, maps, encyclopedias, Time-Life books, Readers Digest Condensed books, computer books over 6 years old or text books over 10 years old.
I have a McCormick Theological Seminary history book to donate. This deals with the Presbyterian and Baptist Seminaries. How do I get it to you, if you are interested in Christianity in American History?
Please see our recent article on donations. Yes, we would be interested in your book. You can donate it at the main desk at the Library.
