Friends Cultural Program Series

Friends will again sponsor a series of cultural programs.  Starting in September, the programs will be presented in the Rogers Room of the Forest Grove City Library, 2114 Pacific Avenue.   Programs usually start at 6:30 PM.  Admission for all the programs is free.
Here is a brief list of the programs as now planned.

September 12  Lono Waiwaiole–Noir Fiction: Writing from the Dark Side.
October 3  The Metal Cowboy Joe Kurmaski presents Lightning in a Saddle: The Long, Untamed Life of Evelyn Hamilton, Emancipated Warrior of British Cycling and other stories
October 10  Vallamo: Finnish folk music
November 14  Alton Chung– Storyteller – The Japanese-American Experience of WWII and Okinawan Memories of WWII: Okinawa and Hawaii — The story of the Himeyuri
December 2  Brian Oberlin Holiday mandolin performance
December 5  Nathan Palmer – Coffees of the World
January 30   Bonnie Olin – Owyhee Canyonlands-Owyhee River Journals talk/slide show/book presentation
Spring, date TBD   Dancing with the Dead/Summer of Love Program – Rosie McGee
